Shell Collage
These works form a series exploring the expression of what lies hidden beneath the surface of the shell. The shell is the outer layer; it isolates and protects us, but it also houses an organism within. The shell absorbs diverse materials, leading to various transformations. The combinations I’ve created mirror the hidden aspects within us. Reflecting and exploringnature, I follow the spiral, clockwise movement of sprouting and growth. As the processes of drying, shriveling, and abscission occur, the movement is spiral and anticlockwise. In my shell collage, I delicately emphasize the transitions between 2D and 3D, aiming to create
harmony and explore various positions.
Collage of Skirts
These works feature the motif of mustard-colored fabric, symbolizing two different items: as a skirt with an ugly stitch on the side, marring its beauty, and a bag which can vary in size and placement, either on a figure’s back or beside it.
This collage tells a personal story about the memory of a loss, which evolves and takes on new meanings over time until it is liberated and returns to its natural state.
I crafted these pieces using empty paper bags, symbolizing the void within the memory of the loss.
